Forget the onset of those dark dreary days, Howletts & Port Lympne Wild Animal Parks in Kent have something to make your November sparkle! It's Elephant Month this month so pack up your trunk and head down to the conservation parks for 30 days of non-stop fun and family activities!
From Jums, the 5.5 tonne proud bull to Etana, the 11 month old cheeky calf, you are invited to meet them all and have an up close and personal introduction to the parks' most majestic mammals. The excitement starts as you enter the gate! Children receive a FREE fun-packed goody bag to truly get them in the mood for the day ahead. Once inside, why not get the inside scoop into the characters, routines and daily lives of the parks'...African Elephants as part of the 'Meet the Keepers' Q&A session.
You'll see how every effort is made to reproduce, as much as possible, the conditions in which these splendid animals would live in the wild. Watch the elephants display their normal herd behaviour in their substantial enclosures whilst listening to our 'Ele talks' that give you exclusive information about our wondrous collection. Why not act like an elephant and head to the parks' watering holes? It is in the parks' restaurants that you can curb your appetite, quench your thirst, and receive a FREE elephant mask for the children!
Have you ever wondered what an elephant's tusk feels like? Well, at our 'tusk talks' you can find out! See and feel what it is that the elephants of our world are being poached for in the wild by coming into contact with a tusk that was donated to the park as part of our education programme. It is at these talks that you can learn about the poaching problem overseas and find out what The Aspinall Foundation is doing to combat the problem.
And, if you think that there's all there is on offer at Howletts & Port Lympne this month...think again! Every day one lucky visitor (over 7 years old) will have the opportunity to be named 'The Golden Ticket Winner'! This magnificent prize offers you the chance to get a unique behind-the-scenes experience! From colouring sheets to puzzles, enrichment programmes to craft sessions, there is so much to do at the Wild Animal Parks this November! So be like our elephants and never forget-Its Elephant Month!
