EXPERIENCE AN EXHILARATING SKY DIVE FOR FREE AND RAISE MONEY FOR ENDANGERED ANIMALS
Hundreds of adventurous volunteers are being sought by The Aspinall Foundation to make a fundraising parachute jump. Anyone raising more than £360, depending on the type of jump made, can experience it for free.
Solo Skydive
The "accelerated freefall" involves the thrill of skydiving solo from up to 12,000 feet. A full day's ground training includes practical and classroom sessions with the jump taking place the following day. Whilst diving solo, two qualified instructors jump alongside until approximately 5,000 feet when the parachute canopy is pulled.
Tandem Skydive
A "tandem skydive" from 10,000 feet attached to a professional instructor involves freefalling for several thousand feet.
Static Line Jump
A third option is a "static line" jump from up to 3,000 feet which requires a full day's training before the jump is performed the following day.
The jump can be made from any one of over twenty British Parachute Association approved airfields across the UK. No experience is necessary to participate in one of the jumps as full instruction and training is given. Anyone interested must be aged 16 and over and under 15 stone.
