School Activity Pack

The Aspinall Foundation school activity pack – engaging the young people in wildlife conservation.
The Aspinall Foundation has launched a new education activity pack for schools which aims to raise awareness among school children of the plight of endangered species and engage them in fundraising activities to support animal conservation.
The new pack, aimed at primary and secondary school teachers, includes lesson plans, worksheets and homework projects about endangered species which compliment science, geography and citizenship areas of the national curriculum at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. Topics covered include conservation, natural selection and the effects of human behaviour such as deforestation and hunting.
For secondary school age children, more complex issues such as mankind’s responsibility in the protection of endangered species and ways in which humans can help, are also a focus of lesson plans, and children at both primary and secondary school age will learn about the work of The Aspinall Foundation and other charities to protect endangered animals.
The Aspinall Foundation hopes that the new pack will help more school children to learn about animal conservation and inspire them to get involved in supporting the charity's work. To accompany lesson material the new packs contain posters, stickers, key rings, certificates and fundraising tips and advice.
Sarah Tite, Fundraising Manager at The Aspinall Foundation says:
“This new education activity pack introduces animal conservation to school children in a way that really brings it to life, and shows them that there are lots of things they can do to help.”
