Welcome to our press area

Howletts Wild Animal Park, near Canterbury, and Port Lympne Wild Animal Park and Gardens, near Hythe, house over 100 species and almost 1000 animals. An exciting feature at Port Lympne includes an 'African Experience' safari trail where animals such as giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and ostrich roam free as in Africa. The mansion hosts events such as conferences, weddings and parties.

At Howletts, there are close encounters with tigers and you can now walk alongside lemurs. Gorillas, monkeys, black rhino, elephants and many more rare and remarkable wild animals inhabit both parks. In the summer, an overnight safari at Livingstone Lodge affords the opportunity to wake up to the sounds of the Serengeti - the first overnight Safari in Europe.

The Aspinall Foundation is committed to the following objectives:

  • To halt the extinction of rare and endangered species in the wild.
  • To continue to provide the most natural environment possible for the animals in its UK parks at Port Lympne and Howletts.
  • To re-introduce these animals back to their wild habitat where this is possible.
  • To continue to be world leaders in animal husbandry and breeding.
  • To be a partner and catalyst to conservation efforts at home and abroad.
